Storage of hazardous and maintenance supplies

WAC 110-300-0260(5) · Serious

O26O(5) The licensor observed a leaf blower stored on top of the kitchen counter. When asked about the item, the provider stated that she used the blower to remove wood chips from the concrete area. The licensor provided guidance that outdoor maintenance equipment, such as a leaf blower, should not be stored on kitchen counters or food preparation surfaces due to the potential for introducing dirt, debris, or contaminants into areas where food is prepared or stored. The provider was advised to store the leaf blower in an appropriate designated location away from kitchen surfaces to maintain a clean and sanitary environment and reduce the risk of cross-contamination. .
