Needs more woodchips under slide in preschool area. Woodchips were observed under 9 inches deep. Needs more woodchips under climbing structure in school-age area. Woodchips were observed under 9 inches deep. Dispute Description: Not long before Dionne left (8-12 weeks ago) she stopped by and wrote us up for the bark but we had some questions for her and she was going to touch base with her supervisor to help us problem solve. She was going to get back to us. Dionne (old licenser) has already wrote us up twice this year, once this spring and once this summer. We spent LOTS of money on bark! I am sending all receipts in, so you can tell we have been very proactive. I do not think writing us up again while we are waiting for her to get back to us is fair. However, for safety of the children we did just put an additional $1000+ worth of bark under the fall zones two days ago. I think the new Director might have tried to explain this to you, but may not have understood it much herself because the conversation was between the old Director, as the new Director is BRAND NEW. I (the owner) happen to know more of the conversation with Dionne. Safety requirements

Licensor observed blinds with pull cords in school-age room. Licensor observed plastic gloves and toilet paper in plastic wrapping inside of toddler bathroom. A lock was observed on cabinet, but cabinet was left unlocked while licensor was present. Licensor observed various loose cords in school-age room that were coming down from lamps, ac units, and other electrical items. Long yarn was also observed accessible to children. Center director moved yarn during visit. Lamp in school-age room was observed to have a light-bulb that is not shatter-proof and is easily accessible to children. Toddler bathroom and bathroom near infant room were observed at 123 degrees Fahrenheit and 125 degrees Fahrenheit. Dispute Description: All lamps without a cover use shatterproof bulbs. Unfortunately I went and checked and no where does it say it on the bulbs. I checked to see that it matched the box in the storage shed and it does. I will send documenting photo. All the cords are safety secured to the walls in all the classrooms however in the school age room, we do have a kids floor lamp and an air conditioner on the floor where the cords lay on the ground to the plug. We would not have these if we thought they were a strangulation safety issue in this classroom. We just updated plugs and some electricity in this room in the spring (will send receipt) by a licensed electrician who came out and did a safety check for us. He added two plugs up by both fans, so neither one of those cords were going up the wall any more but the cords are tied and may have given a cords hanging look (will send photo, so you can get another look). In our school age room (and only in our school age room) up on a cabinet, we have a microwave which stays unplugged unless being used for safety reasons. That cord does go to the side and is hanging out of the way, on the side but it also has a outlet above, so it’s not on any extension cord and it just sits there so it’s easy for the teacher to plug in. There is absolutely no strangulation risk. The lock on the bathroom cabinet was put back on, the cord to the blind was cut off and we did a check to make sure there was no others that had been missed, those corrections were made the following day, August 10th, 2024. Emergency preparation and exiting

Licensor did not observe extra batteries inside of emergency backpack for battery powered lamp. Emergency exit door in outdoor space was observed to have a tire partially blocking emergency exit door. Dispute Description: The tire is there for a purpose and has been there for 15 plus years. It’s a small mini bike tire to prevent the children from ramming all their tricycles into the exit gate. From certain angles, it does look like it might be blocking the exit route, however if you are close to it, you do realize there is plenty of room to exit. Climber with attached green slide on the preschool playground has 7" of ground cover at two measured points within the 6ft fall zone. Blue slide in the same area only has 5" of ground cover. Must have 9" of ground cover within the fall zone of climbing equipment. Red climber on the school age playground has 6" of ground cover in the 6 ft fall zone and swings have 6" ground cover in the fall zone. Must have 9" of ground cover.
