At the time of arrival, this licensor observed a swing hanging from the backyard tree. This swing did not meet the CPSC guidlines by being too close to the tree. The swing was placed above grass instead of the CPSC surfacing guidelines located in WAC 110-300-0146 and the Public Playground Safety Handbook. The swing was removed at the end of the inspection.

The provider, F.H did not have her file and the information in MERIT for BBP and verified has expired. CPR. First Aid and Food Handlers had already been verified by a licensor. F.H. could not find the documentation for her assistant N.H., N.H is currently not working due to low enrollment but is still listed as her assistant. Her file coud not be located and there is certifications in MERIT that required verification. Licensor was unable to verify Food Handlers for N.H, CPR, First Aid and BBP for N.H. Provider stated she would ensure that all items were sent and N.H was in compliance with her required items prior to return to the program.

Window blinds are by the front door upon entry. The cording forms loops. The laundry room door has a locking knob but was freely accessed during the visit. Need to ensure that knob is locked or locking mechanisms are placed on the washer and dryer to ensure that there is not access. Some counters tops in the kitchen have visible damage and tape has been placed on the counters to the repair. The laminate had peeled off and been reattached with tape. Need to move gym equipment from back yard covered area prior to resuming usage of the backyard play area. Provider stated it is currently not being used and that the children go to a nearby park.

There was a cat observed walking around during the visit. The provider stated they were cat sitting for a friend. The cat will be returning home within the next week. Licensor discussed the requirements even for a visiting cat to provider and 3 daughters. Licensor sent Pet Policy document to provider on 1/30/24 to fill out. According to provider the parents of the two enrolled children were notified. But there was no documentation in the files to reflect that they have read the Pet Policy. The provider does not have any pets of her own. There was no written policy or documents for the cat.
