At the time of this inspection, licensor observed a retractable mesh style baby gate mounted into the wall in the entry way leading to the unlicensed livingroom, blocking the emergency exit pathway to the back door. Citation was corrected on site - provider will not use this gate and will use supervision strategies to prevent children from entering unlicensed space until either a) adjusting the emergency exit pathway to use a different route through the dining room, b) installing quick release hardware that allows the gate to open immediately when necessary, or c) using a tension rod style child safety gate that is not drilled into the wall and can be knocked down easily in an emergency.
