After interviews with staff at Bright Horizons Longacres, the subject of the incident and the parent of the child, it is determined that the teacher through the information obtained and by the teachers own report, that they did grab the child and caused bruising and therefore violated Section C of WAC 110-300-0331.
0106(10) Teacher Maria Leal and Ayan Mahamoud will need to have Blood Borne Pathogen Trainings completed
0106(11) Staff members Mia. Shea, Lyly, Rennie, Nadia, Vivian, Ayan, Sarah, Angela, and Danel will need to update their 1st Aid/CPR and entere into MERIT. (Note: Managers said that this training is coming up soon)
0106(3) Teacher Vivian will need to complete Child Care Basics Training
The Maintainence/Janitor room and Laundry room are unlocked and could potentially be accesed by children. These must be locked during the day when children are in care.
Landing areas under slides, platforms and raised surfaces will need at least 9" of play chips with a 6 foot buffer zone around each piece of equipment.
