Food allergies and special dietary needs

WAC 110-300-0186(4) · Serious

Early learning providers must review each child's individual care plan information for food allergies prior to serving food to children. Part of reviewing a child's allergy information is checking the ingredients label prior to serving a food to the child. The hummus label was not checked for allergens prior to being served to the child. The child was served the hummus containing a known allergen. Thus, this violation is valid.
