Screen time was observed in a classroom during nap time. The television was being used to play lullaby music but had moving graphics on the screen. This was corrected at inspection when the screen was turned off.

Information obtained throughout the investigation shows that a caregiver hit a child on the back of the should before pulling them down from climbing an outdoor structure.

Information obtained throughout the investigation shows that caregivers grabbed children by the arms as a form of punishment.

Information obtained throughout the investigation shows that caregivers yell at children as a form of punishment.

746.1205(a)(2) - Responsibilities of Caregivers - Know number of children responsible for · High

Two caregivers did not know how many children they were responsible for. This was corrected when the caregivers recounted the number of children in their care.

Information obtained throughout the investigation shows that a child was left unsupervised in a classroom.

746.1601 - Child/ Caregiver Ratio - 13 or More Children · Medium High

One classroom was out of ratio with one caregiver caring for 19 children ages 3-4 years. The specified age group of the classroom was one caregiver to 15 children. One classroom was out of ratio with one caregiver caring for 33 children. The specified age group of the classroom was one caregiver to 22 children. This was corrected when additional staff members arrived and went into the classrooms.

Information obtained throughout the investigation shows that the operation did not report a situation placing a child at risk to Child Care Regulation.

Information obtained throughout the investigation shows that an incident report was not completed for a situation that placed a child at risk.

746.1613(a) - Reduction of child/caregiver naptime ratio by 50% allowed, If 13 or more children in care, children are 18 mo. or older and other standards met · Medium

In the older infant class (specified age 12-17 months), there were 10 infants (ages 12-17 months) napping with one caregiver. Naptime ratio cannot be reduced for children under the age of 18 months. This was corrected during inspection when another caregiver came into the classroom.

The operation has had the building serviced by a fire inspection company, but the operation has not had a fire inspection since August of 2020.
