Easton Park is a 2,300-acre master-planned community in southeast Austin, roughly 12 miles from downtown off SH 130 and SH 71. Built by Brookfield Residential with multiple builders (Perry Homes, Taylor Morrison, Highland Homes), it includes 12 sub-neighborhoods, a resort-style amenity center (The Union), 350+ acres of parks, and an onsite Del Valle ISD elementary school. An H-E-B is coming in 2027.
The childcare situation is challenging. The Children at Risk nonprofit has designated southeast Austin as a childcare desert — meaning there are more than three children under 5 for every licensed childcare slot. The first center inside the community (Primrose School at Easton Park) opened in fall 2025. Beyond that, families are looking at providers in adjacent areas: Del Valle, Goodnight Ranch, and the 78744/78747 corridors along Burleson Road and Slaughter Lane.
Childcare near Easton Park runs $1,000 to $2,000+ per month for full-time care. Chain centers (Primrose, KinderCare) are at the top: $1,500 to $2,000+. Licensed home daycares run $900 to $1,400. Del Valle ISD programs and Head Start are free for qualifying families. Southeast Austin is generally below citywide Austin averages, but Easton Park's newer centers price at the premium end.
This is a supply-constrained market. The Primrose inside Easton Park is the most convenient option but opened recently and is filling fast. Home daycares in Del Valle have small capacities (7-12 children) and fill through word of mouth. Infant care is the tightest segment everywhere. Start searching immediately — this is not a market where you can wait until your start date is close.
Every provider above has been individually researched. Scores reflect HHSC inspection records, Texas Rising Star ratings, pricing transparency, and editorial review — not advertising or self-reported claims.
