Which program do you run?
If you can see your own listing on Shortlist, the link at the foot of that page brings you straight here.
Where should the login link go?
Everything is free. The full dashboard, for every provider.
What only you can answer
Public records carry a licence, an address and an inspection history. They do not carry tuition, your hours, how many children are with each adult, who teaches and how long they have stayed, or whether you have a place right now. Those come from the program or they do not exist, and for most listings they do not exist yet.
What you can fill in
Tuition, including part‑time and what a family pays before the first month: registration fee, deposit, sibling discount. Hours, ages served, the shape of your year. Your policies on illness, biting, naps, screens, outdoor play and how you keep families informed. What a typical day looks like. How many children are with each adult, by age. Who teaches with you and the year each of them started. A completeness meter shows what is still blank.
Questions
- Does this cost anything?
- No. The dashboard is free for every provider, the full feature set, with no paid tier and no way to buy position.
- Shortlist has no email on file for my program. Can I still claim it?
- Yes, and that is the common case: about seven listings in ten carry no email, because state licensing records do not publish one. Enter the address you want the login link sent to. Diana checks it against the state licence record before your first change publishes, and she replies to every one.
- Is anything published automatically?
- No. Every submission is reviewed before it appears, and every value a parent sees records where it came from. Yours will say it came from you. The full methodology is published at shortlist.guide/methodology.
- What do parents see?
- Your licence and state inspection record, tuition, hours and ages, ratios, meals and policies, your approach, and who teaches with you. The dashboard shows your listing exactly as a family reads it, with a field‑by‑field view of what is still blank.
- Who is behind Shortlist?
- Diana Clemons, a senior product leader with 15 years in data and analytics. Diana built the original spreadsheet that became Shortlist after moving to Seattle and finding no transparent way to compare local providers. Every profile uses a published methodology, applied the same way to every provider.
