Frequently Asked Questions

Does this cost anything?
No. The provider dashboard is free for every scored provider. There is no paid tier and no upsell.
What if my email isn’t associated with a listing?
Email [email protected] with your center name and city, and we’ll link your email to your listing.
Can I improve my score?
Yes. Scores reflect the data we can find. If public records are incomplete, submit your data through the dashboard and we’ll update the score based on verified information. The full methodology is published at shortlist.guide/methodology.
What data do parents see?
Everything in your public profile: category, teaching philosophy, pricing, ratios, meals, enrollment status, inspection records, staff data, and the editorial review. You can see exactly what parents see by clicking “View your public listing” in the dashboard.
Who is behind Shortlist?
Diana Clemons — a parent and data analyst who moved to Seattle and couldn’t find transparent childcare information. She built the spreadsheet that became Shortlist. Every score uses a published methodology. No black boxes, no pay-for-placement.
