Shortlist is an independent childcare research service that scores every licensed daycare and preschool in a city using a transparent, data-driven methodology. Parents get letter grades (A through D) based on ten dimensions — inspections, staff qualifications, ratios, curriculum, pricing — with no sponsored listings and no paid placements.
Shortlist was created because no independent, quality-focused childcare resource existed for families navigating the search. The same rigor that financial services firms apply to rating investments is applied to scoring childcare providers. Every provider is independently researched using licensing records, inspection reports, accreditation data, staff qualifications, and parent feedback. Shortlist has no outside funding, no sponsored content, and no provider advertising.
